Beluga Whales are often known as white whales. They are a ginormous kind of
whale that is 12-32 feet and weighing approxiexternal image Beluga-Whale.jpgmatively 3,000 pounds. Beluga babies are born brown and have no dorsal fins throughout their life. They have large foreheads to show intelligence and are the smartest animals on earth. Beluga's have an orange belly button when they are first born but they grow out of that quickly. The life expectancy of these whales are about 55 years. White whales are closely related to the tusked unicorn. Also, they live in small groups called pods. So, they mate every 20 years. The sounds that the Beluga makes are clicking, whistling, growling, and clanging noises to communicate. And when they are with other animals they can mimic them to communicate with them. The white whale is a huge whale and one of the biggest mammals in the sea! They eat tuna, humans, harp seals, fish and worms. They get eaten by polar bears, giant schools of fish, arctic people, and killer whales. Beluga's are often mistaken by hunter's for sea otter's because of their whiteish blue color.
